Our Open-World Game: 'Infinite' Gets a Release Timeframe at Gamescom

Summary
At the opening day of Gamescom, NetEase's open-world game "Infinite" offered a playable demo, which was also hands-on tested by our team. The demo consists of two parts: story mode and open-world exploration, on PC with gamepad support, and the complete playthrough takes about one hour. Compared with the version shown at TGS last year, this new build is far more mature—what was once closer to a "concept presentation" has now reached approximately 70% of the final playable state. The game is set in a modern metropolis full of charm, with neon-lit streets and skyscrapers. Players can freely explore the city, use grappling hooks and vehicles to traverse, and interact with NPCs, engaging in various activities beyond the main storyline. The demo impressed with smooth character animations, detailed environments, a well-structured quest system, and a combat system that feels significantly improved with better impact and combos. The announcement of the game's official release timeframe during Gamescom also fueled anticipation among fans, with PC confirmed as one of the platforms. From an industry perspective, "Infinite" demonstrates NetEase's growing technical capability in open-world development and reflects the advancement of Chinese games in the anime-style urban genre. It brings the promise of an online world that players can call truly ours, and might soon become a reality.
